Heaven's Saints Motorcycle Ministry

Lakeland Florida Chapter

Finally, My Brother, Be Strong In The Lord And In The Power Of His Might

The Heaven's Saints Motorcycle Ministry provides a Christian brotherhood of bikers to fellowship with and minister alongside. While the majority of members are bikers, owning a motorcycle is not a requirement to be a part of this ministry. Heaven's Saints members can be found all over the U.S. and in some parts of Canada. Chapters are formed once there are seven members in an area. Members of local chapters work together to reach out to others in their community. Each chapter prayerfully considers how they can best direct their efforts to provide help and assistance to those in need. We have chapters involved in many areas of ministry including prison ministry, youth outreach, youth detention centers, homeless shelters, drug and alcohol rehab churches, rallies, biker events, etc.

Why we wear the Christian Flag

Heaven’s Saints didn’t always wear the Christian Flag on their backs. Previously, we wore a full-size Heaven’s Saints patch on our backs. While ministering at Daytona Beach Bike Week, the Lord gave Barry Mayson the vision of wearing the Christian Flag on our backs and placing our small (then our support patch) in the lower right hand corner. This meant cutting off the Heaven’s Saints Armor of the Lord patch that God had given him so many years before. It was hard, VERY HARD, but he did it right then and there under the ministry tent in Daytona Beach, Florida. Not only did the Lord show him that the Heaven’s Saints should do this; but Barry felt led to urge other Christian motorcycle ministries do the same – wear the Christian Flag on their back with their ministry identification in the lower right hand corner. The scripture the Lord gave Barry is found in John 3:30 “He must increase, but we must decrease”. Many Heaven’s Saints then and in the months following received the vision with understanding and followed in wearing the Christian Flag. Others ended up leaving the Heaven’s Saints ministry because they didn’t like the change. Not only did we receive criticism from our own members, but members and especially leaders of other ministries accused the Heaven’s Saints of various things, one of which was trying to absorb all of the other Christian ministries into one big ministry run by Barry! Well, here we are, years later, and we have brothers and sisters in other ministries who also wear the Christian Flag who are what we call “covenant” with us and us with them. It has worked to unite us and yet to keep the individual ministries as the members want them. Since the Christian flag belongs to no one, anyone can wear it without necessarily belonging to any ministry, association, club, organization, or incorporation.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

4 Important Keys

When studying the scriptures, there are four important points or “keys” to keep in mind. Neglect of these points has lead to much confusion and false doctrine. Whereas, careful application of these precepts may help open the Holy Scriptures for a clearer understanding of the will of God for our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV)

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

#1 - Who Is Speaking

we must know who says what

Sometimes men’s words or thoughts are recorded in the scriptures. At other times it is God who is speaking and yet at other times, it may be Satan’s words that are recorded in the scriptures.

#2 - On Whose Authority

man, God, or others, it is important

In some instances, men are used by God to speak on God’s authority. In other cases, man is recorded as speaking on his own authority. When God’s words are recorded in the scriptures, He speaks on His own supreme authority. However, when Satan quotes God’s words, we must take note, for he is a deceiver and sometimes outright contradicts God or may use scripture out of context.

#3 - Whom Does It Apply

it is important to know the audience

No one is foolish enough to think they ought to build an ark because the Bible says so in Genesis 6:14. All are wise enough to read the context and see that it was Noah to whom this command was given. However, multitudes of people neglect to read the context on a variety of other subjects and vainly attempt to make application of portions of God’s word that are not directed to them. The question of the Sabbath Day is a case in point.

#4 - In What Dispensation

when things are said is important

Today, it is our privilege and responsibility to witness to the reality of the living Christ, our Lord and Saviour. However, in the “kingdom age,” when the Lord Jesus is ruling and reigning here on the earth, there will be no need for those saints to witness such to their neighbors for they will actually see Him. Thus we see that the context of any given verse is of utmost importance. In addition, if we intend to find the will of God on any particular subject, we must consider all He has revealed to us on that subject. We must allow the Bible to interpret or explain itself rather than relying on tradition or human reasoning.
